The question “Are you happy?” conjures mixed emotions inside of me. My initial reaction is “Of course!” but then it is followed by doubt, questioning, and then pure confusion. It seems like a simple question with a simple answer but I don’t agree. I consider myself an overall happy person, not fully committed. The only way I have determined this answer is because most of the time I lean towards happy rather than unhappy. Simple or not as simple as that.
My definition of happiness is, of course, not the same as the next person but I was still intrigued to pick up and buy
The writer, Gretchen Rubin – a wife and mother of two, also describes herself as an overall happy person. Her research on the topic helps her define and take on different resolutions every month in order to determine the potential of true happiness.
I am only on the month of March but cannot wait to finish this up and set out my own project. A structured plan may make someone feel forced and inauthentic but I don’t see the harm in it if the end product is positive.
The part I am at right now in the book is where Gretchen’s goal is to start a blog and I related to so many of her points. She talks about the fear of failing and the anxiety that comes with it. Blogging, to me, is a form of expression and can be a fun hobby. I don’t rant on here or give any political opinions but I still have found the creative outlet that works for me.
We should all be able to find something that we enjoy.
If you are interested in starting your own project, let me know. It’s always a good feeling to start something like a new project or blog and have the support of friends and family!
