warning: not sure why photos are sideways on iphone. if you know how to fix let me know :)
the best part of the fiestas for me have to be the churros. it takes me about 20 minutes longer to get than it should due to running into a cousin & then i only end up with a couple because it’s also everyone else’s fave too. it’s okay though! i’ll be hitting it up again tonight :)
instead of a bouquet of flowers, try a bouquet of churros next time ;)
our third night in pradoluengo was super fun reconnecting with relatives i hadn’t seen it awhile. we all hung out in the town plaza. benji ate churros & threw little firework “bolitos”. it was the best.
my cousin caro was telling me how she drew up a family tree for her boyfriend raul but forgot it at home. how brilliant! i need one for myself! both my grandparents came from such large families & since it’s a small town it seems like it’s easy for them to remember us because it’s just us, 4 people. but it’s so hard to remember literally over 100 peoples’ names.
i spoke with a woman yesterday who had to be in her late 70s & she was bewildered i didn’t know her name since she was my grandfather’s niece. lol. love it!
i previously mentioned my cousin susana is la reina of las fiestas juventud & my other cousin aitana is also on the court! benji was loving the attention from the princesses.
i have to say, some people told me before the trip, “such a shame he won’t remember anything”. i totally understand it’s just some of the best memories have been made in just 4 short days here. it is for sure going to be a trip i will never forget. it’s incredible how he is fitting in already. he has definitely picked up some spanish words. he makes me so proud! :)
a total european babe.
til next time!
