i just got so nostalgic & went through some old blog posts. i just love this little corner of the internet i have moved into over the years & get to call my own. seriously, if you want to start a blog, just do it. it is so fun to see how much you have grown through documenting the moments over the years. some of my posts were so simple & only like 2 sentences while others were full on stories (bedrest days). and of course there are some cringe worthy, ok let’s go ahead & make that private, posts too ;)
let me catch you up on the past 4 months because they have been pretty incredible.
i found out i was pregnant!
almost a month after our trip to california, i took a pregnancy test & it said yes. i had a perma-smile for about 24 hours then started bleeding. lots of praying & doctors visits. our baby is healthy & thriving. i had morning sickness in the first trimester but it went entirely away after 14 weeks. inna gifted me this awesome prayer journal & it has been so perfect. i highly recommend it! thank you so much, friend!
i turned 30!
my sister threw me a surprise dinner with some of my closest girlfriends at ava. she reserved a private room & i just cherished the moment where we were all together, laughing & reminiscing.
then that weekend, we had a bbq at our house & my sister had another surprise! she collected videos from friends & family who couldn’t make it out to the party. i cried, i laughed. it was the best! 30 is so good.
we are having a girl!
we found out the gender pretty early on but i did not believe it! i just felt i was going to be a mama to all boys. the chinese gender calendar even said so! so, i waited for sure until after the 3rd or 4th sonogram confirmation to buy her some dresses. this is going to be too fun.
benji turned 3!
i can’t believe this little itty 6lb 11oz baby i once held is so grown. he makes us laugh constantly & is such a pure joy. we are sad he is growing so fast but are simultaneously so proud of who he is developing into. we love you, benji. we took a trip to orlando & played at the hotel pool as well as had dinner with family at t-rex. it was chill & perfect!
jimmy got a new job!
this is the latest in the pope house & we are excited. he starts in a week & we are looking forward to what this next chapter is going to bring for our family.
god is good, ya’ll.
and to conclude, i am always asked what i am currently reading & i know i’m loca but i have a lot of books going on right now. i’m insatiable!
bible study picked up again & we are reading anything. if you are looking to strengthen your faith, this book will do it. woah, it has opened my eyes to all of the attachments i have made through the years. it is giving me the focus i need to prioritize & really define what matters.
some other books on the list:
bird by bird by anne lamott
the finishing school by valerie woerner
rising strong by brene brown
girl meets change by kristin strong
the power of now by eckhart tolle
wildflower by drew barrymore (on audible)
so, this was a little bit of a catch up. i am dumbfounded it is november already & although i am very much working on being present, i can’t help but get excited about the months ahead!
hope to share more soon, friends!
